Richard Jay Handelman, DDS

Dr. Richard Handelman has been in private, solo and group dental practice since 1976, and is the founder of Blue Mesa Dental Associates of Colorado.

Dr. Handelman, attended Washington University in St. Louis Missouri as an undergraduate in biology, and received degrees as Master of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis, where he practiced for fifteen years.

Dr. Handelman has been appointed to many hospital and nursing home facility staffs over his career. He has completed over 2200 hours of continuing education, including certification in periodontal surgical techniques, implantology, medical emergencies in the dental office, endodontics, dental office administration and insurance management, prosthetic and geriatric dentistry, and is currently certified in basic life support and CPR. He has attended many courses offered by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Periodontal Institute. Dr. Handelman is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, and the Rocky Mountain Dental Society.

He is extremely proud of his three daughters, who all relocated to Colorado in 1990. Of course all avid skiers, Dr. Handelman also enjoys tennis, swimming, mountain biking and traveling. Dr. Handelman also is passionate about flying, holding a certificate in Commercial, Instrument, Single and Multi Engine Land Aircraft and is a certified Multi Engine Land Aircraft Instructor. He also is a student of Bikram Yoga.

Dr. Richard K. Mann, DMD

Dr. Mann is a native of Southern California where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Marine Biology studying at California State University at Northridge. With an emphasis in marine studies he spent most of his undergraduate and free time in and under the costal waters of the Pacific Ocean studying the marine life of Southern California and the Sea of Cortez, in Baja Mexico. An avid scuba diver, Dr. Mann has dived with the manta rays and humpback whales in Hawaii, cave dived in the Mexican Cenotes, fed the sharks in the Bahamas and explored the lives of the unique giant squid in the Sea of Cortez.

Dr. Mann received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry in 1985 while attending Washington School of Dental Medicine in St Louis, Missouri. Choosing Denver as an ideal place to raise his two lovely daughters and pursue an active outdoor lifestyle. Dr. Mann started a family practice in Aurora where he practiced for over 13 years before joining Blue Mesa Dental.

Dr. Mann is proud to be following in his fathers footsteps who practiced family dentistry for 37 years and who he credits for his desire to treat all patients on an individual basis with respect while providing the quality dental care they deserve.

Dr.Daniel Larscheid

Dr Larscheid is a native Minnesotan who graduated from St. Olaf College, in Northfield, MN, with BA in Biology and concentration in chemistry. While at St. Olaf he circumnavigated the globe while finishing his core requirements in Switzerland, Isreal, Egypt, India, Nepal, China, S.Korea, Hawaii and home. Prior to entering dental school he completed research at the Gorlin Laboratories on the East Campus. He was part of a team that researched anti-tumoral compounds derived from manipulating mytomycin C. He then metriculated to dental school at the Univeristy of MN.

Since acquiring his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2000, at one of the top ranked dental schools in the nation he has endeavored to continue to purse excellence in dentistry with hundreds of hours of continuing education. He has acquired an associate degree from Temple University after having completed the Misch International Implant Institute continuum of continuing education learning surgical and restorative implant placement/restoration. He has also taken courses in: Occlusion, Esthetic Dentistry, Molar Rotary Endodontics, Conscious Sedation and 3rd Molar Exodontia from some of the most renowned doctors in the country.

Outside of academic endeavors and dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his fiance'. He also enjoys a myriad of outdoor recreational activities including biking, golf, skiing, climbing and hiking/mountaineering.

Dr. Dwayne Moore

Dwayne A. Moore received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2006 from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, DC. Dr. Moore then went on to the University of Colorado where he completed a General Practice Residency. He has done extensive work in crown and bridge, restorative dentistry, surgery and endodontics throughout his educational career and has continued that success with Blue Mesa Dental.

He has attended many continuing education courses in implants, veneers, surgery, and denture fabrication in order to serve his patients in Aurora with the best care. Along with a staff fluent in Spanish, we aim to help you obtain and maintain a beautiful smile, as well as provide comfortable pain free dentistry for all family members.

He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Metro Denver Dental Society and National Dental Association. Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Dr. Moore has a passion for music, sports and the outdoors; so don’t be surprised to see him at concerts, sporting events or mountains in the area. Dr. Tjark Beaven

Dr. Beaven hails to us from New York where before venturing into the dental field he completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ithaca College, then followed by a business career in Manhattan. Dr. Beaven attended the selective Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine where during his tenure he participated in multiple surgery externships and volunteer activities including an outreach mission trip providing dental treatment to the underserved Malagasy culture of Madagascar. He also completed a General Practice Residency with the Northport VA Medical Center focusing on full-mouth rehabilitation.

Dr. Beaven is a member of the ADA, Colorado Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
